Ithaca, New York - 40 ft x 23 ft

I was hired to paint a mural of Ithaca Falls, a well-known waterfall standing at a massive 150ft tall and 175ft wide. The mural is located on the side of an ALDI grocery store at the entrance of the Cayuga Shopping Center. This was the third mural I’ve done for Brixmor Property Group.

For this project they wanted the design to depict a local waterfall in autumn. The goal was for the local landmark to be visible from the road. As I was painting I realized this mural is also located along a popular walkway. So this was a high traffic area. 

The design challenge was that this was not the first waterfall mural in this town and pretty positive it won’t be the last. This mural had to stand out and be memorable. So I designed a stylized version of Ithaca Falls that is unique and attention-grabbing.
